Earlier today, during advisory, BHS seniors gathered for an assembly in the PAC. The highlight of this senior meeting was the announcement of the homecoming court candidates for the 2020-2021 school year. Seniors voted last week to determine the finalists. At 1:00 p.m. on Monday, April 19, a group of around 100 students walked out the doors of the cafeteria in the first successful student-led walkout at Buffalo High School in over 25 years. Loosely organized around the themes of the Black Lives Matter movement, Buffalo’s Walkout happened simultaneously with similar events in schools across Minnesota. On Sunday, March 28, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz announced vaccine eligibility would be expanding drastically. Every other year, the BHS French Department travels to the wondrous nation of France. Students are given the opportunity to spend their spring break overseas, to really soak in the culture they have been studying in class over the years. Musicians gathered last Monday for the first band concert since the start of quarantine. The Freshman, Varsity, and Concert bands performed, but the students involved in the groups had mixed opinions on the overall success of the band. Night Out for Music was canceled last year due to the lockdown, leading many to question whether or not it will take place this year.
