BHS has taken another step in choosing a new schedule for the 2023-2024 school year and beyond. On October 19, the high school introduced the five class, trimester schedule to the school board. Core classes will become two trimesters, and other two quarter classes may become either one or two trimesters. Road construction on Dague Avenue has impacted almost every student’s drive to and from school since the end of September. Starting in the Fall of 2023, Buffalo High School plans to have a new daily schedule. The 80-minute, four class, block schedule will be gone, replaced with either a trimester schedule or a modified block schedule that features “skinny” periods that allow students to take year-long classes in core subject areas. The cafeteria at school is running out of food. There are about 2,000 students and staff that attend BHS five days a week, and they expect to be fed. Students enjoyed the Homecoming dance on October 2 for the first time in two years, since the 2020 dance was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. It was the first time for many students to celebrate and party after over 18 months of isolation and social distancing. The dance began at 7:00 pm, and lasted until 10:00 pm.
