From December 7-18 BHS held a Toys for Tots drive. The Toys for Tots drive is run by the United States Marine Corps Reserve, and was founded by Major William L. Hendricks in 1947. BHS has held the dive for several years running, bringing in hundreds of toys for children in need. BHS Band Students gathered in the PAC on Monday, December 7, at 7:30 pm to perform a winter concert. They performed five songs : Firework, Rakes of Mallow, Sleigh Ride, Walking into History, and Fire Dance. “Walking into History was the big one for us,” said Senior Melissa Manz, “because we all put so much intensity and emotion into that song. The basketball season has begun at Buffalo High School. The season runs from November to March, depending on how well the team does. You must win the section games before you can advance to state. There are 140 students who are involved in SSU, Students Stepping Up, and out of those 140, nearly 100 of them go and help students at the elementary schools though out the Buffalo Hanover Montrose school district.   Monday, October 26, was the first day all SSU helpers went to the elementary schools. On Monday, October 26sth,  the Buffalo High School Concert choir blew us away with their amazing performance. The concert began at 7:30 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center with an intermission halfway through; the cost was $7 for adults, and $5 for students. This annual event is a fundraiser for the concert band and concert choir’s spring trip which happens every two years, the year in-between is when the summer marching band takes their trip. The Variety Show also raises money for the two music scholarships that Buffalo High School gives out to a graduating male and female each year. Last Monday, Wednesday, and Friday were the informational meetings for Students Stepping Up (SSU).  Social Studies teacher and SSU advisor Tracy Hulley sent out a letter that said SSU is an organization the encourages and promotes chemical free leaders.  According to a letter Hulley sent to teachers SSU members help the district in a variety of ways.
