After an unsettling seventh place finish last year at the State Tournament, the Buffalo Mock Trial team redeemed itself by earning second place honors at the State Tournament on Wednesday. On March 7 – March 9, Buffalo’s DECA team was at The Hyatt in Minneapolis for State. The Haiti benefit on Friday Febuary 26, raised nearly $800 that was donated toward the relief efforts in Haiti. Through out the night people kept donating and purchasing concession items. Donations from local businesses and churches included candy, pop, cotton candy, popcorn that were sold at the event. Business Professionals of America is a school program that offers career and technical organization opportunities for all students. The Boys’ hockey yeam ended regular season play last Saturday with a 6-0 loss to the number 1 AA ranked Minnetonka. The Bison have had a tough schedule this season, facing off against other top teams like Wayzata, Edina, Maple Grove, Roseau and Hopkins. On January 9th 2010 the Buffalo Knowledge Bowl team started off its season with a bang. The first meet was held in Monticello, and 66 teams competed, 6 of which were from Buffalo. From December 7-18 BHS held a Toys for Tots drive. The Toys for Tots drive is run by the United States Marine Corps Reserve, and was founded by Major William L. Hendricks in 1947. BHS has held the dive for several years running, bringing in hundreds of toys for children in need.
