A Strong Start for the Strings
BHS Orchestra performs their first concert of the year in the PAC
Yesterday evening (October 21), the BHS orchestra groups, including Chamber I, had their Fall Concert.
The concert began at 7pm, and took place in the PAC. The night opened with a performance from the Repertory Orchestra group, who performed two pieces before moving on to Varsity Orchestra, Chamber Strings I, and eventually Concert Orchestra.
Chamber Strings is an extracurricular activity split into two exclusive audition groups: Chamber I, a group for upperclassmen (grades 11 and 12), and Chamber II, a group that is available for all grades 9-12. While Chamber II didn’t perform last night, they will make their debut at the Connections Concert on Thursday, December 3.
“[The Fall Concert] was a really nice kick off for the rest of the year,” Concert Orchestra and Chamber Strings I member Claire Martin ‘27 said. “Learning to play in a group with new people always takes time, but I’m looking forward to seeing how we can grow together.”
With the successful conclusion of their second event of the year, the music department is now looking forward to their last concert to officially close the strong beginning for the groups: the Fall Band Concert next Monday, October 26.
