Looking around the school on Friday, March 23rd one might notice all the kids wearing the same bright teal shirt that says “overcome hunger with love” on the back. Throughout Buffalo Middle School and High School, over 100 students went for 30 hours without food to raise hunger awareness. Two teams of students competed yesterday at ComedySportz in the PAC at Buffalo High School to get a reaction out of the audience while a referee calls fouls. Ten students participate in ComedySportz, an extra-curricular activity that deals with improv skills and making people laugh. Teacher Sheri Tamte held a meeting on Wednesday March 14, during AAA for students to custom design VANS shoes. VANS shoe company is doing a national contest for canvas shoes, and those who win the contest get their shoe design created, produced and sold. Buffalo High School featured it’s Concert Orchestra, Chamber Strings, and Symphony Orchestra in the Performing Arts Center last night. Music Teacher Mike Knutson directed the entire evening. Monday afternoon the Buffalo High School Concert and Varsity Choir headed to Orono High School for Large group Vocal Contest. The Buffalo Varsity Mock Trial team are advancing to State after defeating Cambridge-Isanti 220-199 yesterday afternoon. “I was really nervous and when the judge gave the verdict,” said Junior Emma Pearson. ”He was like, ‘Defense 199 and plaintiff 220’.
