The basketball season has begun at Buffalo High School. The season runs from November to March, depending on how well the team does. You must win the section games before you can advance to state. The Boys Varsity Hockey team has been preparing for the 2009-2010 season since their Captains Practice began in October. But, the teams official try-outs did not began till Monday, November 16th. Throughout their week of try-outs the coaches evaluated players, and began to determine the players that would play on varsity and junior varsity. The Varsity girls basketball team opened their season this week with their 1st practice on Monday. Buffalo held the 5th  Boo-ffalo Halloween 5k and fun runs on Saturday October 31st. The 5k started at 12:00 p.m and the fun runs shortly followed. The run was helped out by the Buffalo track and field teams, and lead by Track coaches Scott Palmer, Dave Knutsen, Mary Bremmer, Jason Karn, and Evan Ronken.           The bison football team is going far into section after last years section final lose to St. Cloud Tech in St. Johns University stadium. Special Olympics bowling at Buffalo does well in area meets and regionals every year, and this year is no exception. The team has been through area meet for area 7 already this year, and will go to state at well on November 13th where they will compete with many different schools and will play two games each. “Scores for bowling are indivuidal,” said Coach Ruth Clarke, “and they are in different age groups as well.”…

The Cross Country team headed to Monticello to race for the Mississippi 8 Conference Title. The girls came  8 points short to host Monticello. The girls Varsity soccer team played their last game of the season yesterday in Brainerd. It was the 2nd round of sections. They had previously beat St. Cloud Tech 3-0 in the opening round. They ended up falling short to Brainerd 2-0. Their regular season was wrapped up two weeks ago with two conference games. The first was scheduled on Tuesday against Monticello but because of weather the game got moved to Wednesday at 4:30. …
