Girls Swim and Dive Wins Thrilling Battle Against Eden Prairie
The meet came down to the final relay, with the Bison taking a 95-91 win
Buffalo Girls Swim and Dive slammed Eden Prairie at their home meet on Thursday afternoon. The intense win was dangerously close, with a final score of 91 to 95.
The score was tied through the entire meet. After a long and closely-scored meet, the win all came down to the final race of the meet. During the final relay, the girls would gain enough points to break the tie.
“Before going into the relay,” said Estelle Berges ‘30, “we all knew we had to swim the best of our season. The relay started and our first girl went. Eden Prairie was in front of us. The second girl ended up really far ahead of us, but I went and secured the win. So the race was very tight but we won.”
The relay team included Emily Larson ’27 as the first leg, Elena Close ’31, as the second leg, Riley Kampscheror ’28 as third leg, and Berges as the anchor.
“We felt really happy because Eden Prairie is a very hard team to beat. I was very surprised that we won. We all swam our best of the season,” Kampscheror said.
The girls will continue their season on Thursday October 1 at home. They will be competing against the Minnetonka Skippers.
