Last weekend, March 3-5, the Buffalo’s Boy’s Swim & Dive state athletes participated in the 2011 AA State meet; the meet was held at the University of Minnesota Aquatic center in Minneapolis. There are 8 different sections with 7 teams in each one. The top 2 swimmers of each race, except the top 4 in diving, come to the meet and race for the top spots. Tomorrow, Thursday March 10, at 7:30, all choirs will be performing their “World Music” Choral Concert in the Performing Arts Center. All together there are 6 choirs. For the past couple of months, Asylum Entertainment has been filming four Buffalo High School girls almost everywhere they go for a reality TV series that will be airing on Lifetime Network on March 15 at 10 p.m. Buffalo High School Seniors Calli, Kendra, Megan and Sarah Durst are identical quadruplets, one of only 63 sets of quadruplets in the world. The Buffalo Bison Mock Trial team, consisting of nine members, went to Sartell  last Thursday, February 24th and came home as conference champions. The team breezed past Sartell, Elk river,  and Annandale by a large margin. Buffalo High School’s concert choir received an honor to perform at MMEA in Minneapolis  February 17th at the Convention Center. The bus ride to the Convention Center was quiet. Brenda Davis, Program Coordinator for Native American Learning at the Anoka Hennepin school district, along with her husband, Michael Davis, came to Social Studies Teacher Todd Manninen’s class to inform students about  the horrors of  Indian Boarding schools and what she personally experienced.  She spent nine years at a boarding school. Buffalo Girls’ Basketball hosted Hutchinson Wednesday night in what they called a friendly scrimmage. Hastings emailed Coach Sorenson wondering if they could set up a scrimmage to get ready for sections and Buffalo was more then willing to. A child somewhere in the world dies every 10 seconds from hunger-related causes, which is 8,000 children a day.  What is being done to help? Every two seconds someone in the U.S. needs blood and more than 38,000 blood donations are needed every day. Many students get excited and nervous as the BHS Blood Drive gets closer on March 4.
