As homecoming comes to an end, the cute and creative ways of asking the question: “Will you go to HOCO with me?” were seen around BHS.
Homecoming proposals are a fun, timeless trend that BHS has taken part of. With their popularity growing on social media, the ways of asking are becoming more elaborate.
Jarem Tew was one of many students at BHS to ask someone to HOCO. He presented his poster to Karina Wuollet at school and shared, “I was honestly pretty nervous to ask and wasn’t sure she’d say yes,” said Jarem Tew ‘29. “But I had a friend who thought it was a good idea and helped me brainstorm ideas for the poster.”
Tyson Aspen was another sophomore who decided to make a sign for his girlfriend, Mia Weis, and ask her to HOCO.
“I thought of making this sign because she cheers for me at football games,” said Tyson Aspen ‘29.
Ben Asleson drew inspiration for his hoco-posal from Maya Parsons favorite movie.
“She said Spider-Man was her favorite movie,” said Ben Asleson ‘29.
While brainstorming and waiting to ask the question can be nerve-wracking for some, the act of receiving one of these homecoming proposals is also exciting as Madilynn Klingman and Elly Kohls share.
“Jenner asked me,” said Madilynn Klingman ‘28. “I was really shocked and I didn’t even know that he was coming to do it. He also got me a fuggler which goes with the poster, it was a very cute poster.”
“I was contemplating whether or not I should go to homecoming,” said Elly Kohls ‘28. “My friend Meg jokingly said they were going to make me a poster and I didn’t think much of it. A few days later, they asked me with a poster! It was honestly such a funny and cool thing for them to do and I am so excited for homecoming!”
BHS homecoming for the 2026 school year was held on Saturday, September 26 from 7-10pm at Buffalo High School.
