• On March 12th 2009 the 5th annual Mississippi 8 lifting competition was held at Buffalo High School. There were 117 lifters total coming from five different schools: Buffalo, Monticello, St.Michael, Rogers and Princeton. Monticello High School won the title as a team with 92 points.   • For the first time in Buffalo High School’s history two boys swimmers advanced to the state meet. The semi-final round took place on March 7, and the finals on March 8. Senior Nathan Engfer swam the 100 Butterfly, finishing 12th overall with a personal best time of 53.35 seconds.
