Buffalo High School senior golfer Alex Holtan signed the National Letter of Intent Tuesday morning to play golf for Iowa Wesleyan University in Mount Pleasant, Iowa. Iowa Wesleyan is an NAIA college, and a member of the Midwest Collegiate Conference. BHS student, senior Nikki Norberg is headed to Peru on August 3 to volunteer with the Smile Network. The Smile Network is a Minnesota based organization that travels around the world to help children obtain surgeries for birth defects. They focus on cleft lip, which is separation of the left and right side of the upper lip. The surgeries cost about $500 each, but through the Smile Network, volunteers and donations allow the surgeries to be free…

On Monday night the Buffalo High School Girls Lacrosse team lost their first home game 8-9 against Westonka. This loss puts the girls overall record at 1-3. The Bison were leading most of the game. 13.7 percent of Buffalo High School students could not locate the state of Missouri on a map of the United States in a recent Hoofprint survey of 131 BHS students from all four grade levels. Of those surveyed, eight were freshmen, 35 sophomores, 36 juniors, 33 seniors, and 19 did not report their grade level. The Buffalo Bison Adapted Softball Team won in thrilling fashion Wednesday April 21 beating Minnetonka-Wayzata Lakers with a final score of 15-14. The Bison were behind and struggled the whole game losing 5-1 after the first inning. Buffalo High School is going to have its first Mock Accident Scenario next week on Tuesday, May 3. This accident is promoting awareness of safe driving around prom. Several BHS students will be involved in the crash to portray what can happen if students make bad choices on prom night.
