The Buffalo girls’ basketball team defeated STMA on Tuesday for a conference and section match up. The Bison not only had the traveling trophy on the line, but also the Mississippi 8 conference title. The Bison have never defeated STMA twice in one season during conference play. Freshman Carl Sones, at 14 years-old, is the lead vocalist and guitarist in the bluegrass band Barton’s Hallow. The the group originated while Sones was at a bluegrass festival when an old friend, Kylie Ellingson, asked if he wanted to join a band. Long term Substitute James Schultz is teaching Science Teacher Greg Hygrell’s Natural Resources and Biology classes while Hygrell takes time off. The Boys’ Swim and Dive team hosted a spaghetti dinner at the St. Francis Xavier Educational Center last Saturday night. Their team is self-funded and this is one of the three big fundraisers they have to do to stay afloat. The spaghetti dinner has been around for three years and this year was the biggest turnout yet.
