Boys’ Baseball stays atop the M8 with win over Cambridge-Isanti

The boys’ baseball team fought hard at Cambridge-Isanti Tuesday. The Bison won the game 10-6.

“If we would have lost the game, we would have lost our season goal: Conference champs,” said Senior Cody Elletson.

The Bison were losing 4-0 in the 7th inning but managed to score 4 runs to tie the game. Senior Brian Holthaus hit in 2 runners and sophomore Brennan Gilyard hit in the last 2 runs. The game went into the 8th inning where the blue jackets scored a run and Senior Brett Renshaw hit a home run to tie the game 5-5 once again. During the 9th inning, the bison took the lead and won the game 10-6.

“We all worked together as a whole to produce the comeback,” said Elletson, “I’ve never seen better teamwork before.”

With this game, it puts the Bison in a tie for the first-ever Conference Champion title with Big Lake. If they win their game on Tuesday, they will lock in at least a tie for the Championship.

“Winning conference champs would be such a great thing,” said Holthaus, “It’s something we have looked forward too all season.”

Buffalo will play the Big Lake today at Bentfield Mills at 4:30 p.m. to hopefully come out with a win and the conference title.
