  • Spanish Teacher Daryl Boeckers was recently awarded the 2008 TIES ( Technology Information Education Services) Exceptional Teacher Award. Boeckers, along with Shelly Geurts of the Phoenix Learning Center were chosen by Superintendent James Bauck for the award. Boeckers was chosen for the award for his comprehensive use of Course Web (through Moodle).   • Concert Band

    On Monday, October 19th, the Buffalo High School Concert Band performed at 7:00 p.m. They performed three songs. The names of these songs are “The Star Spangled Banner,” “Buffalo Dances,” “Gallito,” “Air For Band,” and the “Chorale and Shaker Dance.” As the curtains parted and the lights dimmed around in the audience, the lights diffused onto the stage.   • The Cross Country team headed to Monticello to race for the Mississippi 8 Conference Title. The girls came  8 points short to host Monticello.   • The Tatanka Yearbook and Hoofprint.net were awarded All-State Gold honors and The Hoofprint took All-State Silver at the Minnesota High School Press Association (MHSPA) Convention held at the University of Minnesota on October 20. All school publications are invited to participate in the competition.   • Three fire departments and many citizens responded to a reported fire near Bice Ave Nw Buffalo, MN around nine. So far it is uncertain if any individuals were in the building or as to what caused the fire. Police responded quickly, as well as many fire departments.   • The girls Varsity soccer team played their last game of the season yesterday in Brainerd. It was the 2nd round of sections. They had previously beat St. Cloud Tech 3-0 in the opening round. They ended up falling short to Brainerd 2-0. Their regular season was wrapped up two weeks ago with two conference games. The first was scheduled on Tuesday against Monticello but because of weather the game got moved to Wednesday at 4:30. …
