Buffalo High school-Devin Davidson regularly arrives and leaves the school with an empty parking lot, and dark skies. Davidson spends about 8-15 hrs a week with Divers ed and behind the wheel during the school year in addition to his teaching duties. Davidson gets here early to prep for the day by brushing the snow off the driver’s education cars and shoveling them out. The next step in the day is to prep for his classes.…

Anonymous students running “The BHS Pop Shop” started selling pop and candy bars for $1 out of a locker just two weeks ago. The shop was created to not only make some money, but to offer more beverage and snack options to students that school lunch does not offer. Junior Isaac Basten is a runner, involved in Cross Country and Track. Sophomore Hazel Wintermantel will be heading to Africa with her family in the summer of 2018 to start missionary work. They plan on staying out there for three years to help the people of South Sudan by teaching young adults from Torit, the capital city of Imatong state. Hoping to get an answer for his chronic headaches, Blake Trout ‘21 went to get an MRI. When the results came back, they were worse than anyone could have imagined. The scan revealed a golf-ball sized brain tumor causing his severe pain, which he later would refuse to let define him. Two weeks later, at the University of Minnesota, Trout underwent an eight-hour surgery to remove the tumor for further testing. His tumor was cancerous…

Being home schooled has never stopped junior Ben Ruhr in accomplishing his goals. On February 25, one of Ruhr’s many dreams became a reality when he qualified to wrestle at the 2017 Minnesota state wrestling tournament for the first time in his career.
