Boys Football Show a True Display of Grit Against Monticello
BHS Boys Football fight against the undefeated Monticello Magic
This past Friday (10/02), the Buffalo Boys Football team took on one of their toughest rivals of the season: the currently undefeated Monticello Magic.
The game began at 7pm, and took place on Bison Field West– one of only four home games scheduled for the team. The resulting theme of the game was “hero night”, where students came dressed in their most patriotic red-white-and blue gear.
Alongside hero night, it was also Junior Bison night, where members of the Junior Bison Football team took the field during half-time to have a small-scale scrimmage against each other. This served as both a valuable experience for the young athletes and a good intermission for the audience from the intense match of the two rival varsity teams.
The Magic were forced to be reckoned with that night, as the game itself was a tough fight for the boys. By half-time, the score was 0-14 in Monticello’s favor–but the Bison were determined to keep fighting to sway the final score in their favor.
The game ended with an unfortunate final score of 0-41, a tough loss for the Buffalo boys. With this game now complete, the BHS football boys now have a record of 2-3, with three more games left to go before the conclusion of their regular season.
Their next home game will be on October 21st against Park Center.
