Zenon Dancers for Arts Magnet Program

Zenon Dance Company and School is a school that is based out of the Hennepin Center for the Arts in Minneapolis. The school goes all the way back to 1983, and since then has grown to be one of the premiere dance companies in the nation.

Zenon Dance is a combination of modern and jazz dance, but what makes them even more unique than that is the fact that their artists, the dancers, double as teachers. They try to teach as diverse of groups as they can, including kids that may have hearing impairments. The company is know for their performances being very technical with high energy, and their dancers are known for their generous personalities.

Including their performance on Friday, Zenon is working with the Arts Magnet students in their Art Foundations class.

“Watching the dancers practicing and interacting with the kids on a personal level was sweet,” said Jenna O’Flannagan,  senior and TA for Tampte in her Arts Foundations class., “Because of how professional and elegant they are when they dance. They really work well with the kids.”

Zenon Dancers are performing in the Performing Arts Center on Friday, October 2 at 7:30, and the cost is three dollars to get in.
