Monday September 21nd the cast for the fall 2009 school performance was announced. This years performance will be Seussical the Musical. Try outs were held last week on September 16th, 17th, and 18th. They were supervised by Micheal Walsh and Tracy Hagstrom-Durant. A full cast list can be found at the bottom of the page.
“Over 60 students auditioned,” said Choir Director Micheal Walsh, ” They had to read from a Dr. Seuss book, sing, and dance during auditions. There was a lot of energy and enthusiasm while they performed.”
The Seussical’s plot is is a twist on several different Dr. Seuss books. It includes parts from Horton Hears a Who, The Butter Battle Book, The Lorax, The Cat in the Hat to name a few. It was picked to be lighter and less serious than last last years The Ice Fishing Play and Les Misérables performances.
“It’s a really upbeat show with a lot of action and expression,” said Senior Bobby Person, “It’s a different show from what we’ve done before and it was needed this year.”
Practice’s will be held throughout October, and early November. Performances will be held on November 19th-21st at 7:30 p.m. and November 22 at 2:00 p.m.
“It’s a great cast. It’s going to showcase a lot different actors talents, and I’m looking forward to working with them.” said Walsh
