Buffalo Bisons Girls Nordic Ski Team starts off there first race today, December 8th. The race is being held at St.Cloud Riverside course at 3:20. Two weeks earlier the team stared there practices, being that there is now snow yet the team has not yet had a chance to put there skis on. Practicing from 2:30-5:oo everyday Monday through Friday this team has had its ways of preparing off the snow.
With Nordic Skiing almost being cut this last spring priar to budget cuts, this sport has not seen its last. Though the Boys team was cut, but they now put themselves together as a club so they will be participating with the girls in the race. The team is looking forward to there first meet. With 6 boys an 19 girls participating Bison are ready to ski!
” Being this will be our first time on snow this year I’m excited but also a little bit nervous. We arn’t quite yet adjusted to the weather so that coule have an effect on the race, but who knows,” said Junior Michelle Hansmann.
