The season got off to a rough start, but the girls are hanging in. With limited practice space and snow on the ground, they were forced to practice indoors. The practices wer held at St. Francis for the first few weeks, but are now held at the Buffalo High school.
Their first game will be on April 15th in Buffalo, and will be playing Spring Lake Park.
“We’ve got a lot of new girls this year,” said Junior Brittany Knight. “We lost a lot of seniors last year, and it’s taking some time filling in their spots. There’s only about seven girls who have played three or four years, the majority of our team have only played a year or two, or not at all. So we all really need to step it up this year considering there are not enough people to be subbing in and out if anybody gets tired or hurt.”
The team’s goal is to be as conditioned as possible. They have high expectations, but are not worried that their goals won’t be met.
