Girls basketball one step closer to conference champs
Girls varsity basketball moved another step closer to their goal of Conference Champs after a come-from-behind 45-43 victory in Monticello. Tuesday night, girls varsity basketball players Reese Wishart and Alyssa Sorenson scored 5 points in the last 30 seconds to beat the Monticello Magic on their home court.
The game was close throughout. Buffalo led the first half but not by much. The second half began and the lead went back and forth, Monticello would gain the lead and then Buffalo would take it again. with only a few minutes left, Buffalo was losing 40-41. Buffalo fouled and Monticello made 2 free throws to make the score 40-43. With 30 seconds left, Reese Wishart made a 3 point shot to tie the game at 43. With only 12 seconds left, Monticello took an offensive on Alyssa Sorenson. She made both free throws to win the game 45-43.
