Girl’s Lacrosse Dominates Becker

Bison Girl’s Lacrosse Continues Dominant Season in 19-4 victory over the Becker Bulldogs

Despite cold and dreary conditions on Bison Field West Thursday night, the Bison Girls Lacrosse team continued a successful season with a 19-4 victory over the Becker Bulldogs. After dropping their first game to Cretin Derham Hall, the Bison haven’t looked back and have won all of their games since.

Within only one minute of starting the game, the Bison were already on the board after a goal by Hattie Touissant ‘25. Buffalo continued to build off of this strong start with five more subsequent goals. The Bison’s momentum was briefly broken by the Bulldogs after they scored back to back goals. At the end of the first quarter, the bison were up 6-2.

Buffalo’s Jasmine Jorgenson ‘28 found the net early in the second quarter to regain momentum for the Bison. Toussaint, Adellita Nelson ‘27, and Daneka Eng ‘27 also scored, further widening the Bison’s lead to 12-2 going into halftime.

Mackenzie Phillips ‘25 scored as the Bison continued asserting dominance in the third quarter. Becker scored once again, but Jocelyn Phillips ‘25 and Eng brought the Bison up to 16-4.

In the final quarter of the game, the crowds and players celebrated as Sadie Scherber ‘27 and Lyla Pool ‘28 both scored their first varsity goal.

Adler Neu ‘26 rounded out the Bison’s strong showing with one more goal in the final 46 seconds of regulation to make the final score 19-4. The team is glad to see their hard work pay off with this successful start to their season, with this win bringing their record to 5-1.

“The game went well and as a team, we have been working really hard this season,” Neu said.

The Bison shined in all positions and, besides their excellence on offense, performed very well defensively, with goalie Rory Meyer ‘26 performing strongly as well.

The Bison will next compete at home on Saturday, April 26th at 2:00 P.M. against Lakeville North.
