Girls Basketball Falls Just Short in 49-51 Loss to Hastings

A strong second half performance led to the Raiders' win

The Bison Girls Basketball Team came up just short Monday, January 13, as a full-team effort at home resulted in an eventual 49-51 loss to the Hastings Raiders.

The Bison started the first half strong with Brianna Eggers, Hayley Rohlin, Mia Haugen, Avery Bjorklund, Alayna Feekes, and Cyre Otto all scoring for the Bison and helping them to take a 27-22 lead into halftime.

After baskets by Savannah Stotts, Feekes, Eggers, and Rohlin, the Bison found themselves down four points with three minutes left to play in the second half.

With only a few minutes left to play, Rohlin was fouled and scored two free throws narrowing the Bison’s deficit to just two points. Shortly after, Hastings scored two more points leaving the Bison once again trailing by four points with 1:54 left to play.

Bjorklund hit a three point shot to make it a one point game with 37 seconds left to play. However, after a foul, Hasting would score one more point sealing the victory by just two points.

Despite a very hard-fought game, the Bison ended up just short of the Hastings Raiders, taking a 49-51 loss.

The Bison will travel to Minnetonka for their next game on Friday, January 17th, at 7:00pm.
