FCA Leadership Kicks Off The Year

FCA, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, is a group that meets every other Monday, alternating speaker nights with game nights. The coaches for FCA are Math teachers Stacy Eggers and Joel Peterson. There are also eight positions which are held by Buffalo High School students.

While at FCA there is always a worship period which is when all the students and teachers sit around and sing. After worship everyone prays as a group. “Seeing kids of different grades and backgrounds come together as one,” Said FCA huddle coordinator Erik Starr, “is my favorite part of FCA and learning about God.”

The eight positions consist of The Huddle Coordinator, Leadership Team Coordinator, Publicity, Prayer Warrior, Hospitality, Music Coordinator, Small Group Coordinator, and Activities Coordinator. “I’m the Prayer Warrior which means I’m in charge of the prayer box that goes around during FCA that people can write down an anonymous prayer that they want prayed for, and us as a leadership team will pray for them,” said Senior Megan Downing. “I also am in charge of the donation bucket, which we use toward any cause at the end of the year.”

The FCA Mission is to present to athletes and coaches, and all whom they influence, the challenge and adventure of receiving Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, serving Him in their relationship and in the fellowship of the church and school.
