#EsuranceSave30 Overtakes Twitter
As soon as the super bowl ended on Sunday, Esurance had their first commercial of the night. It stated that when they decided to buy the first commercial after the Super Bowl they saved 1.5 million dollars. The twitter world blew up when shortly after they said that the money saved was going to be given to a lucky viewer that tweeted #EsuranceSave30.
Excitement and hope instantly hit many people “I saw the commercial and tweeted it right away because it was a simple thing to do for a chance to win a ton of money” said Junior Adam Skelly. While some rushed to their twitter accounts, others were not as phased by the sweepstakes “The commercial didn’t really catch my attention, I chose not to tweet it because I knew there was no chance I would win and I didn’t want to look foolish” said Senior Tiah Marr.

At first it seemed as if any tweet could be entered but what many don’t know about the sweepstakes, because it wasn’t mentioned in the commercial is that there are some rules involved. You must be at least 18 years old and a resident of the United States to be eligible. Also, protected twitter accounts may not be able to send entries and background checks may be subject to the winner as stated on the Esurance website. If this would have been said in the commercial it may have effected the number of tweets but regardless, Esurance definitely got people talking about them.
Twitter users have 36 hours from the time the commercial aired to tweet and the winner will be announced on Jimmy Kimmel live on wednesday February 5th.
