Choirs bring in superiors
Monday afternoon the Buffalo High School Concert and Varsity Choir headed to Orono High School for Large group Vocal Contest. Both choirs earned a superior rating, the highest you can earn, but Concert choir walked away with just a few points away from perfect forties.
“We got two 38s and a 39, ranking superior,” said Senior Heather Gerhardson, “and the top score you can get is 40 so we did pretty good.”
Before going on stage Concert Choir rehearsed one more time and was greeted with success.
“Its seems like when we were practicing it was the best we had it, like ever,” said Gerhardson, “and when we went on stage the same thing happened. It was kinda nice to know that all our hard work had paid off.”
For most Varsity choir members it was a new experience and gave them a different way to evaluate their performance.
“We got to listen to peoples ideas besides Mr. Walsh’s,”said Sophomore Alex Haas, “The judge noticed things that we didn’t work on as much. So, he gave us things that we could improve on.”
The Varsity also earned a superior rating with the scores of 36, 37, and 37.
Way to go! We have such a great choir!
