Boys Soccer Takes 8AAA Title, Advances to State

The team beat Alexandria 5-1 in a rain-soaked Section Final

The Bison Varsity Soccer team proved that neither rain nor cold would prevent them from punching their ticket to the MSHSL State tournament on Tuesday, October 14.

The Bison, seeking redemption after taking second in Sections the year prior, nearly swept Alexandria with a final score of 5-1. Along with qualifying for State, the boys also won the Section 8AAA title, a feat that hasn’t been achieved in over 20 years.

Playing strong that night for the Bison was Owen Seestrom ‘27, who scored two goals in the first half, and a third with 36 minutes left in the second half. Gavin Johnson ‘26 and Cade Nissen ‘27 also each scored a goal apiece, Nissen ‘27 helping increase their lead to 3-1 with 3 minutes left in the first half.

The Bison’s first game in the State Tournament will be determined after the seeding is completed.
