Bison Girls Swim & Dive Take on State Tournament
Eight athletes earned their spot on the state roster
This year, the Buffalo Bison Girls’ Swim & Dive team sent one relay and four girls in individual events to the MSHSL State Swim & Dive tournament. For the 200 medley relay, Elena Close ’31 (backstroke), Emily Larson ’27 (butterfly), Estelle Bergs ’30 (breaststroke), and Avery Lowe ’26 (freestyle) earned their spot on the state tournament roster, with Riley Kampschoer ’28, Lynne Franzen ’26, and Samantha Grieg ’26 as backups. In the 100 butterfly, the team is sent Lowe and Larson, who got first and second place at sections. Larson also went for the 100 breaststroke. The team also sent Adalee Anderson ’26 in the 500 freestyle. The State meet took place on November 14 at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center, with finals on Saturday, November 15, 2025. The top 16 in each event at advanced to finals.
The Bison had a competitive end to their season with the 200 medley relay finishing in 21st, Anderson finishing in 25th for the 500 freestyle, Lowe finishing in 17th, and Larson in 20th for the 100 butterfly. Larson made it to the finals for the 100 breaststroke, finishing in tenth place.
