“I’ll never forget the night my friends and I went to ValleyScare,” said Senior Julia Hogan. “We were speed walking through the park locking arms. Seconds later a bunch of people jumped out from the fog; we ran our separate ways dividing into two groups. I was scared to death. My friends started calling my name and so did the people in costume. Luckily, I managed to find my friends after what seemed like forever. Throughout the night, we toured five haunted houses. I led the way through all of them. I will always remember walking through the asylum; towards the end there was this man in a giant dirty diaper, so we all tried to avoid him and ran towards the exit, but I got squished between him! It was so gross.”
Everyone has stories about their Halloween experiences involving haunted houses, pranks, and trick or treating. Out of ten high schoolers surveyed, eight people said they ‘re going trick or treating for the free candy. There have been various opinions on the age limit of trick or treaters.
“I don’t think it’s odd for high schoolers to go trick or treating,” said Algebra teacher Emily Greeley, “because I went sophomore year, but I think it’s hard for the parents, because it’s suppose to be about the little kids.”
“I think the people are going to be broke after buying all of the candy and costumes, because the prices are outrageous,” said Freshman Carly Zumach.
