This year the Agriculture students and FFA chapter members exercised their individuality by driving their out-of-field tractors to school. In the past years, the interest and participation has been at a steady decline, but this year the FFA kids stepped it up and made it happen with world class style.
“I left my house in Hanover at 6:15 this morning,” said Junior Daniel Strehlow. “I drove to Buffalo to pick up my girlfriend [Meghan Gruber] and then we went to school.”
With the back row of the parking lot filled with trucks, tractors, 4wheelers, lawnmowers, and dirtbikes; it is hard not to notice the crowd as you pull in, and there are multiple staff members supervising so there are not too many clouds of black smoke from the diesels, and big roars as trucks attempt burnouts in the parking lot. Principal Matt Lubben was trying to rush kids inside with a promise of free doughnuts , but none of the kids took the bait.

“It was amazing to see the tradition in Buffalo keep on, I hope it continues through the next years, and I know this is the right bunch of kids to keep this going as it should be,” said Senior James White.
Hopefully this tradition will remain strong through all of the kids graduating, and the strength of the FFA will to stand out and be heard will pull through these tough economic times.
