Mock Trial advances to State
The Buffalo Varsity Mock Trial team are advancing to State after defeating Cambridge-Isanti 220-199 yesterday afternoon.
“I was really nervous and when the judge gave the verdict,” said Junior Emma Pearson. ”He was like, ‘Defense 199 and plaintiff 220’. I felt really proud of our team.”
The team has been putting in three practices a week since October, preparing for the rounds which took place in January and February.
“We’ve put a lot of hard work into the season and it was really nice to see it pay off,” said Sophomore Rachel Koch. “Especially with such a blowout, 30 points kind of redeeming ourselves.”
This is the fifth year in a row that Mock Trial has advanced to State.
“As a senior I’m excited to go because I know most of the teams there and I know a lot of the people on the teams,” said Senior Beth Macnab. “Its really kind of a community at State where you see and recognize people for their talents.”
