Girls Soccer Moves Into Top 10 in Minnesota with Tie vs STMA
Bison improve their record to 9-1-4 with Sections on the horizon
The Bison Girls Soccer team continued a historic season with a tie against St. Michael-Albertville on Bison Field East Tuesday night.
The tie against their Lake Conference rival likely secures the Bison the top seed in Section 8AAA. This tie boosts their season to 9-1-4. The team is currently ranked 9th in Minnesota, according to the Minnesota Star Tribune.
The girls were underrated coming into this season after going 0-6 in the Lake Conference last season and 8-7-1 overall.
A major reason for the success is how close the girls are as friends, according to Catherine Reineck ‘26.
“We are having sleepovers and dinners and are constantly together,” Reineck said.
This bond has paid dividends for the Bison as they took care of their Lake Conference foe Minnetonka 3-0 last week and shut down STMA’s star striker on Tuesday.
The girls are preparing for Waconia on Saturday, with the Section Tournament looming.
