The home Bison boys and girls basketball, double-header on Friday night resulted in victory for both teams. Although both teams were close at half, the girls lead the night with a 45-22 victory over Becker, and the boys’ followed with a 59-34 win.
Friday also celebrated the seniors for both the boys and girls teams. The hallway outside the main court was lined with pictures, and personal memorabilia representing all the athletes on the varsity teams. Following each game seniors took center stage to be honored with memories and appreciation from fans and coaches.
Both games took on the task of a fundraiser as well with the half time “plane toss.” By purchasing sheets of Bison paper (purple paper) for a dollar each, fans supported girls’ varsity teammates after a local car accident. The money will go to helping their families in paying medical bills. The planes were thrown to center court with the most accurate plane taking home a prize.
