Fantasy Football
According to Wikipedia, Fantasy football is a game in which participants assemble an imaginary team of real life players and score points based on those players’ actual statistical performance or their perceived contribution on the field of play.
Fantasy football started in the UK in 1991 and quickly spread to the US. Out of 20 guys surveyed, 95% were in a fantasy football league, and of those 95%, 100% got into fantasy football through their dads.
“My dad, my brother, and me started to do our own league at home when i was 7, and we did it on a word document and we kept our own scores.” Said Senior Tommy Middagh.
Although some who are in a fantasy football league keep score with a pen and paper, you can now check how your team is doing online.
“I check my team every week to see if someone is injured, or to see how well they did and see who they will be playing against next, i check it like i would check my facebook.” Said Junior Nick Weeks.
Whether you were introduced to the sport by your dad, friends, or just found out about it on your own, its something you will find many guys are involved in.
“Its fun.” Said Senior Tony Abramowski. “And it gives me an exuse to watch all the football games.”
