Cassidy Brown scores in the top 1% in the nation on the ACT
On every test we take, a 35 would be considered a failing score, but there is one test it is considered an amazing score on. On the ACT, a 35 is a near perfect score, with only a 36 being better. Earlier this year Junior Michael Hank earned a 36, but someone else has earned a 35.
Junior Cassidy Brown took her test Feb 11 and got her scores back online on Feb 27.
“I was in 2nd block with Olivia [Wyatt] and she knew my ACT scores were ready so she made me log on to check and I was pretty confident I would get a good score, but it was still exciting to see the 35. I wanted a 36, but I still feel good about my score. I was mostly worried about my essay score which I didn’t do very well on so that part was kind of disappointing,” said Brown.
1.6 million students took the ACT in 2011 in the United States. One percent of those students scored a 35. That is 16,000 students in the country of 16.3 million high school students in the U.S.
“I feel special that I’m in the one percent, but it’s not that big of a deal to me because it’s just one test. Part of testing, like everything else in life, is about whether you have a good day or not and I was having a good day,” said Brown.
