Buffalo High School Softball Bounces Back From Tough Loss
After losing a tight game to Becker, the team has won 5 of their past 7 games
Buffalo High Schools’ Softball team had a tough loss back in Becker on Friday, April 26th. It was 2-1, Buffalo was winning, last inning with 2 outs. A pop fly was hit out into center field from a Becker player, the center fielder went for the ball, and dove, but the ball fell out of her glove. Becker wins 3-2. This loss dropped Buffalo to a record of 4-5 on the season, which is under .500 for a team who made it to State the past 4 years.
After the hard loss, Buffalo Bison Softball Girls had a lot of room for redemption.
Senior Mckenzie Pawelk said, “It was a tough game to play, but we shouldn’t have that one game put us in a bad mood. We just have to start talking to each other during games and just support each other. ”
Since that game, the team returned to the winning that characterized their past four seasons. The team has four wins and two losses in the last six games. Girls softball has only three games remaining, one of which is a Mississippi 8 Conference game at home against Big Lake, on Thursday May 16th. The last time Varsity Softball played Big Lake, they won 3-1. The team won 5 of their past 7 games, and is now above .500 (9-8 and third in Conference) with two games left to play.
Update: Bison Softball finished the season with a record of 9-9 after losing their final game against Anoka 7-1. They now head into the section playoff with a 4th seed, they play Moorhead, the 5th seed, tomorrow at 5:30pm at home. Softball sections it is a double elimination tournament. Which promises the team at least two more games.
