Boys Lacrosse gets first win
The Boys Lacrosse team recorded their first win of the year, winning 4-3 over Elk River at home Friday night. This win brings the team’s overall record to 1-4.
Senior Louie Clifton led the team in scoring with two goals. Juniors Sam Mayhew and Nick Earnhardt scored one goal each.
Senior goalie Nick Weeks made his second start and third appearance against Elk River. Following two games where he had given up a total of 14 goals, Weeks showed improvement this game, giving up only three goals while playing the entire game. This was Weeks’ first complete game this season.
Along with his play in the net, Weeks showed off his teamwork and scoring ability early in the game. Passing the ball to Mayhew, who went on to score the first goal of the game, gave Weeks his first assist of the season.
The team heads to St. Louis Park Junior High School to face St. Louis Park Monday night in hopes achieving their second straight victory.
