Bison Hockey team falters against Hopkins

It was too little, too late for the Boy’s Hockey team last night when they played against Hopkins. The Bison lost 1-5.

The game started out slow, and eventually gained some speed when Hopkins scored the first goal of the game with three minutes left in the first period. The Bison didn’t give up and made several good shots at the goal but ended the first period with a score of 0-1.

The second period was very similar to the first. Hopkins scored a goal with three minutes left. Buffalo held on to the puck for the last few minutes and almost scored, before the buzzer signaled the end of the second period. The second period ended with Buffalo trailing 0-2 and left Hopkins with three penalties.

The first part of third period gave Hopkins two more goals and left each team with one penalty. But the Bison fought back and scored a goal near the end of third period. #9 Cody Elletson scored the goal with an assist from #2 Tony Thein and #17 Christian Illies. However, that was all that the Bison would get. The game ended shortly after Hopkins scored another goal.

The final score was 1-5. Buffalo had 30 shots on goal and two penalties. Hopkins had 26 shots on goal and four penalties.

Buffalo’s next game is on Tuesday, February 15 at Cambridge-Isanti.
