BHM Schools lifts mask mandate for transportation

Dropping COVID-19 cases signaled for a change

BHM students and drivers are not required to wear a mask or face covering while riding BHM buses or vans. This information was sent out to parents and students in an email sent out by BHM schools superintendent Scott Thielman at 12:49 PM on February 28th, 2022.

Theilman has previously told the district that he will be following the CDC COVID-19  guidelines for the 2021-22 school year. On February 25th, the CDC stated that people do not need to wear masks on public or private school transportation systems. This decision was meant to go along with the guidance that indoor masking in K-12 schools is not required in an area of low to medium COVID-19 cases.

Since reaching a peak in cases on January 25th, with the cases at over 1300 per 100k in Wright County, cases have gone down to 97.6 cases per 100k.
