Boys’ Swimming sends three to State

Last week, Buffalo’s swim team had 3 of their very own swimmers and divers make it to State. Senior Tanner Baumen, Junior Blake Solberg, and Maple Lake’s Junior David Zaske. Baumen and Solberg went for diving, while Zaske went to compete in the 100 meter breast stroke.

State for divers is tough to get to.  Swimmers have to place in the top four out of several schools. In sections, Solberg got the fourth spot while Baumen and Zaske got the second spot. That guarenteed them their spot at State.

“For me State was a great experience. It was challenging to train for it but I knew we all had to pull it together and shake off our nerves so we could do what we came to do.” Said Solberg.

As for State, Solberg placed 20th, Baumen placed 11th, and Zaske placed 17th. That will wrap up the Boys’ Swimming season this year.
