Only half a point out of third place, competitors and coaches are hopeful that they will be able to make a run for state if they continue to score high in competitions.

“We [the Knowledge Bowl team] are finally starting to compete at a high level. It took a little while for us to gel together, but we feel like we’re finally starting to reach a peak for this season.” Head coach Tracy Johnson said.

The varsity team will be placed into a sub-regional competition in Sartell, where the top six teams will move on to regions. From there, Buffalo will need to place in the top two to advance to state.

“Sartell continues to break records almost every meet, but if we really challenge ourselves we have a good chance at going to state.” Coach Johnson said.

Buffalo’s Varsity teams compete again on Saturday, in Monticello. The JV team wraps up their season on February 28th, at Saint Cloud Tech High School.
