The game started well, with the Bison scoring the first point of the game. By nine minutes into the first half, the Bison are down 13 to 23. At halftime, Buffalo as well as Hopkins racked up points, with a score of 23-41. Ten minutes into the second half, of the Bison girls were down 62-37. The Bison made up much of the deficit down the final stretch, but it proved to be too wide a margin.

Throughout the Bison Girls season, they have had to not only overcome challanges on the court but also emotional ones off as one of their teammates, Senior starter Ashley Patri, is still recovering from a car accident that occurred a week before semi-finals.

With a win against St. Micheal in semi-finals, Buffalo girls headed to state with full support from parents, peers, and faculty at BHS. With ten fan busses from Buffalo Community Middle School, ten from Buffalo high school, and student and family carpools, the Target Center was overflowing with Bison fans.

“The fans are amazing as they support the team win or lose, the support is always there”, said Senior Hunter Volbrecht.

As soon as the final buzzer went off ending the game, the whole section filled the stadium chanting “We still love you…” and “We love Ashley…”
