Tough 8-9 loss to Westonka for Girls Lacrosse

On Monday night the Buffalo High School Girls Lacrosse team lost their first home game 8-9 against Westonka. This loss puts the girls overall record at 1-3. The Bison were leading most of the game. The score at half time was 5-3, with junior Rachel Stenson scoring a hat trick.

“We played really really good,” said sophomore and four year veteran Logan Blum, who scored two of the three goals for the Bison in the second half. “It was a really tough game, and  we just got unlucky.”

This is the first year for the Girls Lacrosse team as an official school sanctioned sport. Last year, as a club sport, the Girls Lacrosse team took second place in the state competition for their division.

“The competition this year is faster and more physical,” said head coach Andrea Lund, “but they [Bison Girls Lacrosse] did awesome. I’m excited for our next game.”

The Girls next game is away against St. Michael on Thursday night at 6:30.
