Wrestlers Headed to State Tournament

Bison Wrestling State participants head to Excel Energy Center in St. Paul, MN to take part it the MSHSL Wrestling tournament.  Qualified team members heading to state include Seniors David Baker and Zach Smith, Junior Timmy Ruter, and 8th grader Mike Simeon.

In individual sections Baker, Ruter, and Simeon took first place in each of  their weight classes, while Smith took second.

The state wrestling tournament starts Wednesday, March 3 and continues until Saturday, March 7.

Tucker Vogt the manager of the team said, “They all wrestled really well, some kids like Simon and Cody Maus did a lot better than anyone thought they would.  Both Baker and Timmy have great chances of placing in the top 5.”

Senior wrestler James Neddermeyer also states, ” All of the boys who qualified are gonna wrestle hard, and do a good job.”

With support from all the fans, family members, coaches, and other teammates the boy’s have high hopes for the final outcome of the tournament.
