Morningstar nominated for Minnesota Goalie of the Year

Haley Morningstar, the Bisons’ senior goaltender, has been nominated for the Let’s Play Hockey Senior Goalie of  the Year Award in the state of Minnesota.

The Let’s Play Hockey Senior Goalie of the Year Award is presented to the top female senior goaltender in the state. Finalists will be named in the Feb. 10 issue of  “Let’s Play Hockey.”

This award will be presented at 11:30 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 27, at the Ms. Hockey Awards Banquet at the St. Paul RiverCentre.

In addition to on-ice talent, criteria for this award includes academics, community/extracurricular activities, citizenship and coach-ability.

The Bison are 12-5 when Morningstar has been between the pipes as goaltender. Haley has 5 shutouts this season, with a 1.63 goals against average and a .933 save percentage  throughout the year.

Haley has committed to play hockey at the next level for St Catherine’s next season.
