Boys’ Swim Team hosts first meet of the season

The Buffalo Boys Swim Team had their first meet of the season on Friday December 16. The meet was held at the Buffalo Middle School pool, and was attended by the whole Mississippi 8 conference. This meet wasn’t scored and was more so a scrimmage to get ready for the season.

With this being the first meet of the year it can bring up mixed emotions for the swimmers.

“Because it’s the first meet of the year, you get excited and nervous for it, but later in the season when you look back at it you realize it was such a fun meet and a great way to kick off the season.” said Freshman swimmer Josh Fischmann, “The first conference meet at the beginning of the season is always one of my favorites.”

This meet was not only a favorite for Fischmann, but also for Freshman Tommy Peterson.

“Its one of my favorite meets because it isn’t scored so it gives people an opportunity to try different events.” said Peterson.
This meet was also a first for some swimmers on the team, such as Freshman swimmer Brian Pettit, who enjoyed the meet and was happy with the outcome of it.
“It was a good time, said Pettit, “because it was my first meet.”
