Homecoming Coronation

At 7:30 p.m. on Monday, September 21st, Buffalo High School hosted the Coronation for the 2009-10 Homecoming King and Queen candidates. Former runner up Breanna Wachter and Christopher Lundquist returned to take part in crowning our new king and queen.

On Wednesday, September 16th during AAA, students and staff  gathered to the gym for the announcements of this years candidates.  The Homecoming king candidates were: Tucker Vogt, Domanick Bainey, Brent Kettenacker, Joel Morehouse, Billy Ogdahl, Robert Malmstein, Neil Gleason, and Jake Letsinger. And the Homecoming queen candidates were: Frances Varner, Ashley Michalko, Maggie O’Donnell, Brielle Colebank, Kristin Jeske, Lizzy Lundebrek, Kristen Grundman, and Hannah Brecht .

Mixing Spoons Will Floersheim and Emily Greeley took the stage for introductions to each candidate. A speech written by Maggie O’Donnell, Brielle Colebank, and Domanick Bainey came after. Following was a solo singing performance by Frannie Pearson.

Former candidates Wachter and Lundquist took the stage to announce the runners up, Brent Kettenacker and Ashley Michalko were crowned.  As they took their chairs, the audience was then on their toes for the crowning of our Homecoming King and Queen. As Lundquist and Wachter danced down the row of candidates, the audience was left clueless as to who our future royalty would be. Our 2009-2010 King and Queen are William Ogdaul and Frances Varner.

“Well I thought any one of the candidates would have made just as good of a king as I would,” says Ogdahl. ” Its so cool to be Homecoming King, I didn’t expect it.”
