Boys’ Basketball gets one step closer to State

The Buffalo Boys’ Basketball team, with the second seed in the first round of section playoffs, dominated Rogers with a 79-53 win. Top scorers for the Bison were Senior Collin Olmscheid with 28 points and Junior John Senger with 20 points.

“I feel like last night’s game was a great way to start off the Section Tournament and it was nice to get 20 points and to help out the team get a dominant victory, but, all in all, we are moving on and hopefully will make it to the finals,” said Senger.

For seven of the seniors, it was their last home game, and an emotional game at that.

Senior Cameron Sonju was asked about the last home game for the seniors and said, “It hasn’t hit me yet honestly, and it probably won’t for awhile. All of us seniors have invested so much of our lives to basketball and now we will never play there again.”

Going into the Section semifinals, the boys will play the third-seeded Elk River Elks at the St. Cloud State basketball court. Earlier this season, the Bison and Elks faced with the Elks winning that game 60-52. To see the full Bracket for section 8AAAA and teams click on the link.
